Information Update on EFT Tax Payments
ARTICLE UPDATED 11 APRIL 2019 – In line with The Ministry of Finance’s efforts to improve tax collection services, the introduction of the Tax Identification Number (TIN) necessitated that validation of tax references had to be changed on all Namibian internet banking payment platforms to comply with the new standard.
Information Update on EFT Tax Payments
In line with The Ministry of Finance’s efforts to improve tax collection services, the introduction of the Tax Identification Number (TIN) necessitated that validation of tax references had to be changed on all Namibian internet banking payment platforms to comply with the new standard.
Bank Windhoek, Nedbank Namibia, Standard Bank Namibia and First National Bank have all updated their respective EFT payment validation according to the new standard. Below links can be followed to download PDF documents received from said commercial banks in Namibia, these documents provide clients with informative summaries on changes on respective payment platforms. It is important to note that all payments to the Receiver of Revenue should be made by selecting the correct tax type with the correct TIN number as reference.
Further to above, clients are also urged to note relating communication received from the Department of Inland Revenue.
