Notification of ITAS
The Ministry of Finance has developed an integrated information technology solution for administration of taxes. The new system known as Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) will replace the existing legacy system (Taxlive) and is expected to become operational as from 17 January 2019.
The new system will be available 24/7 and will allow taxpayers to submit requests and file their returns online. The current tax system will officially be shut down on 31 December 2018. As part of the transition from the old system to the new system, there will be a two-week system downtime for all individual and business transactions before the new system comes into operation starting from 31 December 2018 until 16 January 2019.
No processing of any transactions will take place during the downtime period and other services i.e. issuance of Good Standing Certificates and Taxpayer Registrations will also not be available during the transition period. Notwithstanding the above, taxpayers will still be able to submit tax forms at al Receiver of Revenue Offices and make tax payments via Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT) and Direct Bank Deposits.
